BMW were clever marketeers, the name ‘MINI’ was enough to attract buyers globally, but by producing a simple base model, the MINI ONE, a Mid-range sporty version, the MINI Cooper and then the stunning MINI Cooper S, we were all sold! We are active buyers of all these “new” MINIS

While these new BMW MINIS are considerably more advanced technically than their predecessors, this does come at a price; parts can be expensive and the diagnosing of electrical faults alone will often be time-consuming and therefore, costly. For example, changing an alternator involves putting the car in service mode (removing the front bumper, slam panel and radiator) so, unfortunately, many of these cars are now deemed uneconomical to repair.

Our commitment to BMW MINIs remains solid, as with the older, classic variants; we seek to repair rather than condemn them to a scrapyard. At the time of writing (January 2021), we have seen 10-year-old BMW MINIs written off by insurance companies for arguably minor reasons such as a dented door or a cracked bumper.

So, if you are considering parting company with your current vehicle, we will offer a realistic price with a hassle-free transaction.

Many of these new MINI models are cherished by their owners and understandably so! The optional add-on list from new was exhaustive, to the point that upon final sale, you may have virtually had the car built to your exact specification (which again was a real clever coup by the marketing team at BMW). At Rutland Minis, our valuation will take account of these added factory-fitted extras, after all, they were not cheap!

So, if that dreaded call from the garage or MOT testing station comes, informing you that your BMW MINI needs a huge pile of cash spent on it and you feel that your relationship has come to an end; please consider contacting us rather than condemning your car to the crusher. We will arrange collection from your home or garage and payment will be made by bank transfer at least 24 hours prior to collection.

Our collection team will carefully load your car onto a dedicated trailer, and they are not averse to a socially distanced cup of tea and a biscuit if you’re offering! We will also ask for all paperwork and keys for the car to be provided on the day of collection
