Classic Mini 30, 998cc, 1989, Brilliant Rolling Project

This recently arrived after being dry stored for over 8 years.
Upon arrival, we changed plugs, points, condenser. had the carburettor serviced by a local specialist, changed the fuel and cleaned the fuel tank. It started up and sounded great, it drives well, no nasty noises or gearbox crunching.
The bodywork IS NOT pristine, rust is forming off side wing to scuttle joint and the bottom of the drivers door. near side door has been keyed.
NOW LISTEN UP
We inspected the underside on our lift, whilst its on original sills, these have been patched, the rear subframe has also been patch welded, so at this point we checked all other MOT points and popped it in for a test. It failed on the following
- Rear fog light not working
- CO readings were high
- Rear subframe holed
- Near side sill holed
- Off side floor holed.
We repaired these issues in three hours, presented the car for retest and it passed as it met “MOT” standards, not ours!
It will need in the long term, sills replaced and a new rear subframe, thus it presents itself as a brilliant rolling project
Its covered 79,000 miles which is hardly excessive
Based on this we are selling the car as spares or repair
Interior is period correct and in good order, no tears in the seats, carpets are all good covered by genuine “mini” rubber floor mats, original rear speakers but no stereo fitted.
Engine bay is period correct with the factory ignition shield still in place
Boot floor is nice and no nasty welding, front floor panels under the carpet are free from any bodge welding, which is a bonus.
These Mini 30’s are very collectable and a great investment if you have the skillset to make this perfect, it will make a great investment for someone
