Classic Mini Mark 1, 1960, a beautiful example of this iconic car.

This lovely Classic Mini Mark 1 was registered in October 1960, just three owners from new, with the most recent owner acquiring the car back in October 1984.

We offer this car on behalf of the current owner. When I visited the owner and the car, we talked about the car for 15 minutes, it was plain to me the car spoke for itself. The owner advised he was at an age where he could not get insured anymore, he’s a tad over 90! I digress when I say I spent two hours with the owner and his daughter discussing so many subjects and topics, such an interesting man and lady.

The bodywork appears totally original. I cannot see any evidence of any panels being changed, both doors open & close perfectly, all panel gaps are period correct. Slight (and I mean slight) corrosion is appearing on the roof gutter drivers side front, drivers side wing and under both headlights. All these minor imperfections can be seen in the photographs.

Circa 1980 the engine was replaced with a 1098cc unit, the car drives so much better for this upgrade – it can keep up in modern day traffic now! But we cannot say the car is matching numbers.

The car starts and drives beautifully. It’s an absolute joy to drive, no mechanical issues are present. We will fully service the car and get her a fresh MOT for the new owner.

Paintwork looks original – clipper blue in cellulose paint. The interior is amazing, with slight patina. Odometer showing a kiss over 31,000 miles, which we consider to be correct. A Heritage Certificate is on file, along with many receipts and the V5 registration document.
