We
have just had the car MOT'd (25/03/2008) and the failure sheet
reads as follows:-
- Near
side Seat belt locking mechanism faulty / requires replacing
- Offside
seat belt anchorage corroded, see picture below of the offside
sill and door step that requires welding / replacing, we
were quoted two - three hours to repair.
- Nearside
side light not working
- Nearside
front tyre below legal limit
- Offside
track rod end - excessive play
- Offside
top ball joint - excessive play
- Exhaust
- leaking gases where it joins the exhaust manifold
- Front
exhaust mount missing
- Nearside
rear subframe mounting corroded, see small hole in near
side rear sill we were quoted under one hour to repair.
- Handbrake
cable is frayed
- Handbrake
efficiency below requirements
- Offside
front brake disc warped resulting in juddering
Both
door skins and A panels are corroded as is the N/S scuttle
edge, these do not effect the MOT, but to make the car look
immaculate these matters will need attention at some point.
The
electric sunroof is perfect and does not leak, interior is
clean but commensurate with the mileage. Mechanically the
car drives exceedingly well, but at high revs synchro can
be beaten when selecting third gear.
