MINI COOPER - PROTOTYPE COOPER

This car is part of Mini history,
in 1990 the Cooper was re launched, initially 1000 RSP (Rover
Special Products) Coopers were produced, these were 1275cc cars
with white roofs available in Red, Green or Black fitted with
sunroofs and part leather interiors. These cars sold like hot
cakes so the decision was made to put the cooper back into production.
It was rumoured Rover wanted to revive the Cooper S also, so four
cars (this car being one) were despatched to John Cooper Garages
to create this faster iconic car. The cars were fitted with ported
heads, twin SU carbs and an oil cooler. It has been rumoured once
this conversion was added the car was too noisy to pass the "drive
pass test" so the car could not be put into mainstream production.
The decision was therefore made to make this S conversion pack
available as an after production dealer fit option pack. This
car is one of the four protype cars that were worked on to produce
this beautifully balanced conversion.

sills, boot floor, doors skins,A panels are all immaculate, there
are two tiny spots of surface rust, one on the O/S scuttle and
